Welcome to Chronicles of a Travel Addict!

After over 10 years of international travel, I decided that my stories deserved to be shared with the world. In 2011, I created Chronicles of a Travel Addict to do just that. If this is your first time visiting my site, I am an ethical, vegan, solo female traveler obsessed with literature. As such, I adore animals and defend their well-being, am a life-long Beat Generation fan (especially the female writers behind it!), and am always looking for ways to make your solo adventures more meaningful.

I have lived in Argentina, downed absynthe in Hemingway’s old haunts in Spain, almost died in the jungles of Brazil, discovered my roots in Mexico, taught ESL in Taiwan, lived off of rice in Paris, volunteered with black and white pandas in China, stalked the hotel where Burroughs wrote Naked Lunch in Morocco, and traced my father’s footsteps in Vietnam. It’s been a wild ride and I’m grateful for every second.

The road hasn’t always been easy or romantic, but I wouldn’t trade this life of travel for anything else. If you’re a wanderlusting female looking for solo, ethical adventures, this site is sure to inspire you. Travel has become the most important thing to me in life (alongside writing). My aim is to show you how you, too, can successfully explore the world alone, giving back to society, and embracing creativity- all while supporting sustainability!

Read on, and let the travel addiction take hold…

Aw, thank you, Kaitlyn! Your words mean so much to me. You also inspire me in raising four children; hopefully you do get a chance to travel alone (or with your family!) soon. Thanks for writing!!! 🙂
